Happy Mother’s Day! We recognized several mothers today for the following:

1.  Mother with the youngest baby – Sis. Laura
2.  Mother with the earliest Mother’s Day greeting -Sis. Connie A. (received a call at 5 am)
3.  Mother with the biggest bag – Sis. Georgia
4.  Mother with the biggest age gap from one child to the next - Sis. Carol (15 years!)
5.  Mother with the most children – Sis. Elsa (7 children)

Sis. Patty received the special Mother’s Day award this year for being “Mom” to Amey while her dad, Bro. Byl, is deployed. The ladies shared a Mother’s day poem and song and Casey and Chloe sang “My Mother’s Gentle Love”.

After service there was another bakesale for the Mission’ s trip to Thailand in 2009.

Windows of the Heart

This year’s Mother’s Banquet was held at the Yuan San Restaurant at the Grand Plaza Hotel. If our heart had a window for others to peer through, what would they see? Several ladies presented “Windows of the Heart”, a ladies program by Dorothy Skinner. Through this program, it is her hope that listeners will allow God to clean their heart windows until they shine with God’s love, spilling out God’s sunshine to those in need. It is also her prayer that God will mend broken hearts, rendering them beautiful and useful, no matter which heart window they possess, for His service and glory!

Mothers are known to be expert multi-taskers. They can carry their baby, talk on the phone, do laundry, and go shopping, sometimes simultaneously and without much trouble. Here the ladies are showing how it’s done in a game called “Super Mom”.

In another game, daughters were blindfolded while having to choose their mother’s hands. These daughters truly know their mothers…they all guessed right!

Hafa Adai to the Byrds

FBC welcomes Bro. Norman and Sis. Alice Byrd to Guam. They are here all the way from Utah to minister to us as Pastor Jay and Sis. Linda are on the last leg of their furlough.

Eating out after an airport welcome is an FBC tradition.

Down to Merizo with Bro. Jon

After our back-to-back service last Sunday, we headed down to Merizo for our last fellowship with Bro. Jon De Rusha. It was a little overcast but the sun peeked out enough to give us a cloud covered sunset with reddish hues that was still picture perfect. Many jumped into the water from the pier, while others just relaxed and watched from dry ground.

The drive down to Merizo is breathtaking!

Joseph and His Coat of Many Colors

The Puppet Team put on another fantastic show last Sunday about Joseph. We want to mention some other people who also contribute to the team’s productions and they are Sis. Portia, who paints and draws the scenery for the shows, and we can’t forget the guys in the sound & audio department, Bro. Toney and Bro. Jesse. Great job everyone!

Western Night

Last Wednesday was Western Night for the children in Masters Club. The children dressed up as cowboys, cowgirls, indians, and Nick dressed up as a horse. It was a fun-filled night with games, treats, & prizes.

After being on deployment for over a year in Africa, Bro. Erico Santos and Bro. Greg Schacher made it home safely to excited family and friends! We are thankful for the sacrifices that are made by all our servicemen and their families.
