FBI

September 25, 2008

Pastor Jay preached from Isaiah 47:1-15. Wisdom and knowledge can be good and evil. It’s what you do with the knowledge you acquire that matters. The most important thing to know is that you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and you have a relationship with Him and if you should die today you will be in His presence.

Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The first Faith Bible Institute graduates of Family Baptist Church received their diplomas on Sunday night. Congratulations to all!

Bro. Mike and Sis. Kathy Castro (not shown) were FBC’s FBI facilitators for the first 3 years.

APPLES-Moms Back to School Fellowship

September 6, 2008

Sis. Linda shared a challenge from Proverbs 25:11.

Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Our words are to always be…

A-ppropriate (Proverbs 15:23)

P-leasant (Proverbs 16:24)

P-ure (Proverbs 10:11)

L-ovely (Ephesians 4:29)

E-ncouraging (Proverbs 12:25)

S-oft (Proverbs 15:1)

Mrs. Roundtree shared a little about herself and we continued the theme of Apples with an array of foods with apples. There were salads, a danish, a trifle, a cake, dips, caramel, and bread with apples.

There was a Bag Auction to end the night. Thankfully there were no bag sluggings with all the heated biddings. The proceeds went to the church school. Thanks to Sis. Portia for her bag donations and to all who took part in the auction.

Sis. Rochelle and Sis. Linda did a fine job modeling and auctioning out the bags.

These ladies sure look happy with their purchases. Women can never have enough purses!
